Clarence Cazalot, chairman, president and CEO of Marathon Oil Corp. (NYSE: MRO), jumped up Houston Business Journal?s Highest-Paid Executives of Public Companies list from No. 15 last year to No. 1 this year.
The list is ranked by total compensation, and Cazalot?s increased 208.8 percent from last year ? the largest increase of any executive on the list.
Mark Ellis, president and CEO of Linn Energy LLC (NYSE: LINE), ranks No. 16, but his 94.9 percent increase was the second-highest on the list.
Also of note, this year?s list includes only one executive per public company, so more companies are represented. Equilar, an executive compensation data firm, provided data for the list.
Last week, HBJ revealed Houston's Top 100 Public Companies list. Print and digital subscribers can read more about Houston's Top 100 Public Companies in Houston Business Journal?s Public/Private Companies Report.
